New Data Center Migration UI

The user interface and workflow for our our Data Center Migration Assessment is getting a big update. The new UI allows you to run an assessment for all configured Data Center or VMware accounts in just a few clicks. Or, you can filter down the analysis to analyze individual workloads or Perspectives. You can also select multiple clouds or regions to perform the migration analysis against.

The result? You will now be able to view a side by side comparison of the cost to run a workload on-premises with AWS and Azure.

New Metric Available in Cost History Report

We are in the process of releasing an enhancement that simplifies the process of comparing your service costs before, and after cost reallocation. To understand how CloudHealth helps you reallocate costs, see this article. As part of the enhancement, we are introducing a new Y-Axis measure in the Cost History report. This measure is called Cost before Reallocation (Original). Use this measure with the existing Cost measure to compare your service costs before and after a cost reallocation rule runs.

Container Cost Allocation For Mesos and Kubernetes

We have an exciting enhancement for our Container Governance module customers. We recently added the ability to allocate and track costs to container tasks within Mesos and Kubernetes environments. These costs can be seen in the new Container Cost History report. In the CloudHealth platform, the approach for allocating the costs of containerized tasks is as follows:

  • The underlying hardware resources that make up your containerized environment are considered as shared assets.

  • The costs of the shared assets are allocated to the containerized tasks that consume them, with the allocation being proportional to consumption of the underlying shared resources by the workloads.
