Reminder: Platform Status Page – Subscribe to New Location

Status notifications for CloudHealth (now named VMware Aria Cost powered by CloudHealth) are moving to a new location at https://status.vmware-services.io/. The previous CloudHealth Status Page will be deprecated on March 1, 2023. Until then, status notifications will be posted to both status pages.

Note: Your status page subscription will not automatically transfer to the new status page. If you wish to continue receiving status notifications, please visit the new status page to subscribe to updates for VMware Aria Cost powered by CloudHealth by clicking the 'Subscribe to Updates' button in the upper right corner of the page.

Azure Savings Plans Support – Private Beta

We have added support for Azure Savings Plans within the platform. This includes direct cost and composition reporting, policies, and support for use of these plans in Perspectives. If you are interested in being a part of the private beta program for Azure Savings Plans, please reach out to your Technical Account Manager to determine eligibility.

New GCP Resources

The following GCP Resources are now available in the platform:

  • AppEngine Applications

  • AppEngine Services

  • Logging Log Buckets

  • SQL Database Instance

  • GCP Secret Manager

The YAML file found here will contain the latest set of permissions for all new and upcoming GCP resources. We recommend that customers take the latest version of this YAML each time new GCP resources are released.

New Azure Policy Action

CloudHealth now supports deleting Azure Public IP addresses through our policy engine. This action is now available when selecting the “Azure IP Address” resource type. To use this policy action, you will need to add the following permission to the service principal: Microsoft.Network/publicIPAddresses/delete

New Platform Search Bar

We are excited to release a new search bar function! This search icon in the header will allow you to quickly navigate to menu pages. Currently the search parameters are set to search for items featured on the left hand navigation pane. No setup is needed to enable this.

Update to Saved Reports – New Layout

The updated Saved Reports layout is now available! The new, contemporary style has the following features:

  • After selecting the vertical ellipsis before the report name, you may use the Save as, Edit, Share, and Delete options

  • Text-search filter will be available after clicking on funnel icon

  • After clicking on appropriate column header, the column value will be sorted

  • The page is backed by a new set of GraphQL APIs that provide all the same functionality that is available in the UI

Update to Anomaly Detection – Perspectives for Root Cause Analysis

Our team is excited to announce that Anomaly Detection is now supported by Perspectives at a root cause analysis level! Powered by FlexReports, users can easily filter by Perspectives on the Anomaly Detection Root Cause Analysis (RCA) page.

With Perspectives for RCA, users can now get visibility into application changes surfaced through Perspective grouping that may be hidden when only evaluating just tags in the CUR. This is just the first step towards enabling more Perspective support for Anomaly Detection.

Validation for Additional Kubernetes Versions

We are happy to announce that our Kubernetes Collector Agent is now validated on Kubernetes versions 1.24, 1.25, and 1.26. If you are running a version of Kubernetes up to 1.26, the collector agent will work without any further action. You can read more about the changes in our Changelog for Kubernetes Collector Agent.

Upcoming Change to Detailed Charge Type Dimension on AWS Cost History

We will be improving our categorization logic for the Detailed Charge Type dimension on the Cost History report to better support updating naming within the AWS CUR.

The following credit types are currently captured under “General Credit”, but will be broken out as: Private Rate Discount, Bundled Discount, RI Volume Discount, and Distributor Discount. Reseller Credit will be renamed to “SPP Credit.”
