Starting in February, we will no longer be re-calculating free tier for Data Transfer in partner billing for Consolidated Billing. We will still re-calculate Data Transfer in the context of the billing block and use tiered pricing, we will just be charging for all usage. For Full Family configurations, there will be no impact.
We’re excited to announce that FlexReports Visualization is now generally available. FlexReports Visualization adds the ability to create a chart table view or a table-only view in addition to the existing FlexReports. This update allows users to create meaningful visualization charts without having to export to a CSV file, and the option to distribute the report with a shareable link. Users can change chart types, x/y category fields, filters, and drill down to view granular data.
Key benefits include:
Enhancing the user’s capability to interpret data
Ability to perform trend analysis to see how cost and usage vary over a period
View data in near-real-time
Capabilities added for general availability (as compared to public beta) include:
Sharable report link: In the ‘View Report’ page, Share option is available (next to Edit Report option), which will enable you to share the chart and data grid view with preselected parameters, as a link. The ability to include charts in the subscription email is coming soon.
Show all columns: For the data grid, a new Show all Columns checkbox is available to switch between aggregated view and all column view in the chart view page.
Filtering on chart legends: Clicking on chart legends filters the data shown in the chart.
Note that as part of visualization enhancements we had to enforce ‘aliases’ (Select column1 as column1) in the report query. For all existing reports with subscriptions, the custom queries have already been modified to include aliases. For any new reports to be created going forward, please make sure to include aliases if you would like to customize the default query.

To keep your Azure data pipeline functioning properly in CloudHealth, all Azure EA users are now required to add the EnrollmentReader permission to the Service Principals that CloudHealth accesses. Instructions for updating your Service Principal can be found here. After updating the permissions, users must log into CloudHealth and map their Service Principals to the enrollment and billing accounts they wish CloudHealth to collect. Note that this step is only required for customers with an EA bill.
We’re pleased to announce a key enhancement to the exclusion option in the Custom Line Items Rule user interface. Until now, multiple Custom Line Items had to be created to exclude prepays and other services. User could only do either/or exclusion between prepay and other services which necessitated creating multiple line items. With this update, services can be excluded in the same Custom Line Item Rule. Custom Line Items are available for AWS, Azure, and GCP.

We’re excited to deliver updates to the policies scheduler that have dramatically improved performance and increased reliability. Previously, there were intermittent periods when policies started past their scheduled time, impacting some of our most critical policies that manage virtual machine states. With the performance improvement rolled out this month, customers will typically see policies start within a couple of minutes. This change has made the policies engine much faster, more consistent, and more reliable, resulting in a better user experience.
