Tag Support for RDS Security Groups

We have added tag support for RDS Security Groups -- you can see this reflected in the platform in the RDS Security Groups Asset Report, use them to allocate these assets (and all related resources) into Perspective groups, and run configuration policies based on tagging. Note that while RDS Security Groups do not have costs associated with them, the advantage of allocating them to Perspectives is that it will pull all dependent related resources into the Perspective Group as well.If you update your IAM policy using the auto-generated IAM policy in the platform, no further action is required to take advantage of this new capability. If you update your IAM policy manually, there are additional permissions that you need to add to your IAM policy:

Update to Costs for Elastic Load Balancers

We recently added indirect cost categorization for the following asset types:

  • EC2 - Application Load Balancer Transfer

  • EC2 - Network Load Balancer Transfer

  • EC2 - Network Load Balancer usage per hour

Costs for these services are represented as their own indirect cost, which can be assigned to Perspective Groups using cost reallocation rules.

Reminder -- Update to Costs for DynamoDB

We have updated costs for DynamoDB Subscription sign-up charges for better cost tracking and management. Previously, these were combined in the DynamoDB - Unused Reserved Read Capacity and DynamoDB - Unused Reserved Write Capacity indirect charges. They are now distributed into their own indirect charges:

  • DynamoDB - Reserved Prepay Read Capacity: This is a new indirect cost representing initial signup charge for DynamoDB provisioned read throughput.

  • DynamoDB - Reserved Prepay Write Capacity: This is a new indirect cost representing initial signup charge for DynamoDB provisioned write throughput.

These changes will backfill for the past 13 months of cost history and will let you create reallocation rules for these new costs.
