Update to Partner Generated Billing Full-Family Pass-Through

We’re updating the way that tax is handled for AWS customers using Partner Generated Billing’s full-family pass-through option. Under some conditions for full-family pass-through customers, tax values may have been displayed as they were originally calculated by the cloud provider. These tax values would not reflect custom billing adjustments made by our partner community.

For the March billing cycle, we will be ensuring that all partner generated billing information, including full-family configurations, will remove tax values from the customer’s Cost History Report. This will allow our partners to ensure that only usage values are shown to customers and that all tax information can be controlled fully by the partner’s existing invoicing process.

Please note that this change does not impact CloudHealth Partner Generated Billing statement files, which have always removed tax values. This change will only be for March onwards, historical data will not be regenerated.

If you have questions on how to handle this change, such as tips on using CloudHealth’s custom line item features, please contact your Technical Account Manager or the CloudHealth support team.

Update to Costs of Amazon EBS Snapshots

We have updated the cost categorization for Amazon EBS Snapshots. Previously, Amazon EBS Snapshots were accounted for as an indirect charge. Going forward, the costs associated with EBS Snapshots will be distributed into the ‘EBS Snapshots’ direct charge. Your reallocation rules for EBS Snapshots indirect charges will no longer be applicable. All the costs will be distributed according to any Perspectives you build for EBS Snapshots or related tags.

To better understand the difference between direct and indirect charges as it relates to cost reallocation, view this Help Center article.
