We are excited to announce the general availability of AWS EC2 Actual Cost in our rightsizing recommendations, which makes “Actual cost” accessible as a cost type. This allows users to view the recommendations based on the following two pricing methods:
List price - View recommendations based on the listed on-demand price for the AWS service/instance.
Actual Cost - View recommendations based on the actual usage cost. The recommendations consider the discounts or pricing impacts on the source instance that result from Reserved Instances, Convertible RIs, and Savings Plans. Any discounts for current instances will be considered within the recommendation.
For more information, please refer to the documentation.

We are giving advance notice to users that AWS & Azure Classic Rightsizing will be deprecated in the coming months. A specific date for the deprecation will be communicated in future updates, but we are encouraging the use of our new Rightsizing capability now for an enhanced user experience and expanded functionality. New Rightsizing capabilities are available in the left-hand navigation under Recommendations > Rightsizing.

In addition to viewing budget, actual, and forecast views in Forecasting, users can now see budget and variance values in the corresponding data grid to enable easier consumption of exact numbers. To do so, choose “None” as the category, select a desired budget, and click the “Show Variance details” checkbox above the data grid. Scroll to the right in the data grid to see additional variance columns, helping you understand the exact difference between budget and actual values as well as budget and forecasted values. Functionality to export budget and variance values within the grid will be introduced as a next step soon.
