We’re excited to release the public beta of AWS Savings Plan Recommendations: our new analysis framework that helps you make the best purchasing decisions for your business. As Compute Savings Plans have gained rapid adoption, they’ve removed questions around infrastructure that we had with RIs from the commitment decision, however new questions have arisen. With Savings Plan Recommendations from CloudHealth you can now answer these questions as you come to the decision that’s right for you.
By default, Savings Plan Recommendations displays the commitment level that results in the maximum savings for each purchase option, along with the upfront cost, discount rate, coverage rate, and associated savings, all in one screen. From that same screen, you can override the recommendation to manually set a given commitment level and/or coverage rate.

In order to better understand why these recommendations were made, or how these commitments will apply to your usage, click into View Details for a drill-down.

With this unmatched what-if analysis and visibility, you can evaluate the risk vs savings trade-offs that are right for you, and come to a Compute Savings Plan commitment decision more quickly and more confidently.
Learn more about CloudHealth Savings Plan Recommendations in this Help Center article, and we look forward to your feedback as we march towards General Availability.
We’re excited to announce the private beta for the Policy (Read) API! This feature will allow you to pull your policy result summary totals, as well as affected resources, through an API.
You can retrieve and consume the summary data and affected resources into your own internal tools, report on your progress, view and take action, and thus have richer control with respect to implementing a governance policy.
The API supports retrieval of CloudHealth policy, policy block(s), and policy violation data for your policies in the CloudHealth Platform. For customers who are interested in participating in the private beta, please email ch-policyapi@groups.vmware.com to determine eligibility.
