Classic CloudHealth Experience - Partners | Update to Tenant Lifecycle Management

CloudHealth has made an update around how we process tenants that are in an expired trial state to better align with an upcoming feature around tenant lifecycle management. With this change, new partner billing statements and reports will not be generated for tenants in an expired trial state. If you have any questions on how this impacts your reporting or management of customer tenants, please reach out to your account team.

CloudHealth Roadmap and Feature Voting

You can now vote on features and submit ideas for feature requests directly in the platform. You can find the roadmap portal from the home page dashboard by clicking on the “Provide Feedback” button on the top right of the screen. You can see the number of votes for each feature, and view things that are in the different phases of development.

Updates to Asset Reports

Asset Reports have been updated to provide a more interactive experience. You can now query asset metadata using AssetQl and save those queries for easy access. In order to recreate the asset report views that exist on the classic experience, navigate to the inventory page and select the desired asset.

What you can do using Assets Explorer

  • Query and visually explore all of your public cloud resources

  • Investigate specific resources and their relationships

  • Identify candidates for deletion based on related assets

  • Identify tagging gaps and distribute them to resource owners

  • Identify orphaned, idle, unattached, or incorrectly sized resources

  • Identify misconfigured resources for corrective action

To access your cloud resources, from the left menu, go to Explore > Assets. More information can be found here.

Custom Dashboard Creation

The new CloudHealth experience supports custom dashboard creation, allowing you to combine multiple FinOps reports and widgets into a single view. Dashboards are currently user-specific and cannot be shared. Any changes made are visible only to the creator. Dashboard sharing will be available in a future release.

This report enables you to review your historical performance based on the savings achieved by implementing cost optimization recommendations.

Using the Realized Savings report data, you can

  • Review your absolute savings compared to on-demand pricing.

  • Evaluate how effectively you are leveraging purchased discount mechanisms such as Reserved Instances or Savings Plans.

The new CloudHealth experience Optimization dashboard offers a centralized view of your monthly savings potential and realized savings. Based on the past 30 days of usage data analysis, the dashboard highlights potential savings through Resource based commitments (e.g. RI) Spend based commitments (e.g. Savings Plan), and rightsizing recommendations. The dashboard guides your cost optimization efforts with a comprehensive view across three key timeframes -

  • Past - Know your savings - Click Previous month’s realized saving to view realized savings trend data and KPIs. For more information, See, Realized Savings.

  • Present - Know your KPIs - Effective Savings Rate, Current Coverage, Expiring and Underutilized resources showcase the current state of your environment.

  • Future - Know your potential monthly savings - Spend based and resource based commitment summary, and the Rightsizing summary provides actionable recommendations to help you optimize your costs in the future.

Additionally, the dashboard displays currently active anomalies, providing opportunities to take remedial action and avoid unnecessary costs.

To access the Optimization dashboard, navigate to Recommendations > Optimization from the left menu.

Custom reports (formally called Flex Reports) have been redesigned to be more streamlined and reduce time to create. All existing FlexReports will be saved and migrated to the new experience automatically and will show up under the custom report section. Creating a custom report is straightforward, a three step process in the new experience. To get started, navigate to CloudHealth > Reports, click New Report dropdown, and select Create using UI or SQL.

Intelligent Assist

You can use the Intelligent Assist to ask questions about your cloud data in natural language without having to understand complex schemas and column definitions of datasets. Intelligent Assist translates and runs your request as a GraphQL query, and responds to your prompt. It uses a Gen-AI model to determine the most effective representation of your data, such as a bar chart, line chart, detailed table, or informative text, and presents it to you.

To get started, click Ask Intelligent Assist in the top navigation bar. Review guidelines, then either type your own question or select one of the suggested prompts in the chat window.
