We are pleased to announce the general availability of our new Amazon Redshift Rightsizing feature. Amazon Redshift uses SQL to analyze structured and semi-structured data across data warehouses, operational databases, and data lakes, using AWS-designed hardware and machine learning.
Our new Redshift rightsizing feature generates recommendations to correctly provision your clusters based on your current usage characteristics. Complete with a new user interface, this feature delivers:
Cost and savings summaries
Customizable efficiency targets based on CPU and Throughput
Details page with additional information to help validate recommendations
Since the public beta, we have added the ability to group recommendations by account or Perspective groups, the ability to export recommendations as a CSV, and we have added CPU and throughput metric utilization charts to the details page.
Data from our rightsizing engine is available via GraphQL API that enables you to programmatically set efficiency targets and consume recommendations. Learn more in our Rightsizing Documentation.

We are excited to announce the general availability of our Cost Reallocation API. This API provides an extension to our existing functionality for AWS and Azure, empowering users to programmatically create and manage Cost Reallocation rules. These rules allow for precise chargebacks to Perspective groups from both Indirect cost and Perspective group sources, streamlining cost reallocation processes.
Customers will enjoy the same comprehensive set of actions related to Cost Reallocation via the API as they currently do through our user interface (UI). The API mirrors the rich capabilities of our UI, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for managing cost reallocation.
For more in-depth information and guidelines, we encourage you to refer to the comprehensive documentation available.
The following functions can be performed through the Cost Reallocation API:
Manage cost Reallocation using APIs
Get list of Cost Reallocation Rules
Cost reallocation Node Queries

We are pleased to announce the general availability of a new Google Cloud Platform BigQuery Cost Report, built with FlexReports. This new report will appear in the left navigation panel under “Cost.” This out-of-the-box report makes it easier to view BigQuery costs across services, accounts, locations, coverage types, etc., while maintaining the flexibility that FlexReports offer. Since the beta, we have added support for Perspective groups, so you can select Perspective as the category generated in the report and view costs for individual Perspective Groups.

We are introducing four new FlexReport templates – three for AWS and one for Azure. These templates (or pre-packaged queries) give users out-of-the-box reporting, as well as a starting point from which to modify queries to create an unlimited number of new reports.
1. Top 10 Cost Drivers for the previous month based on AWS Services – this template shows the top ten AWS services that drove the previous month's total cost.

2. Top 10 Cost Drivers for the previous month based on Azure Services – this template shows the top ten Azure services that drove the previous month's total cost.

3. Monthly AWS EC2 unused on-demand capacity reservation cost - this template provides the total monthly Amazon EC2 unused on-demand capacity reservation cost for the last 6 months, grouped by instance type.

4. Monthly AWS Amortized Cost by Service - this template provides the total monthly amortized cost for AWS services for the last 6 months.

We are now displaying the record count in FlexReport Preview, so users can see the record count while doing exploratory analysis.

We have made an improvement to our policy alerts for all billing statement and budget policies to now include a link to the report associated with this data. This is available under the “Report Link” field as shown below.

Microsoft’s Azure Enterprise Agreement API was originally scheduled for deprecation in the first week of October 2023, however, Microsoft has postponed it to May 2024. Here we are reminding users of the upcoming deprecation of "Azure Enterprise Agreement" dataset in FlexReports, which is now scheduled for November 2, 2023. The new "Azure Cost Management" dataset will be GA on or before November 2nd. Users will have all their saved reports live and editable just like today. We encourage using the new Azure Cost Management dataset while creating new FlexReports.
