We are happy to announce the general availability of support for the Azure Cost Management dataset in Tanzu CloudHealth FlexReports. This new dataset supports the following Azure Agreements: Enterprise Agreement (EA), Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA), Modern Commerce CSP and Pay-As-You-Go. Customers can find this new dataset, titled Azure Cost Management, under the Datasource dropdown.
We have introduced the following updates for the Azure Cost Management dataset in FlexReports:
This new dataset is backed by the Azure Cost Management APIs, improving the reliability and breadth of data available.
For applicable agreement types, we are adding support for amortized cost in addition to actual cost, which can be differentiated using column MetricType. Newly created reports will have these measures going forward, and all existing reports can be edited to add these new measures if needed, while they continue to work as it is without any intervention.
This dataset supports currency conversion. The CostInReportingCurrency column captures the cost in the configured currency. This dataset also explains the math behind each conversion by exposing the CostInBillingCurrency and ExchangeRateToReportingCurrency columns.
We've added support for Savings Plans in the new dataset, which can be found under reservationId and reservationName. The supported agreement types are now backfilled with the last 13 months of data. We will provide additional tooltips for the new measures in the coming weeks to improve the experience. For more information, please utilize the updated documentation (updated documentation will be available Monday).

Microsoft Azure’s Enterprise Agreement API was originally scheduled for deprecation in the first week of October 2023; however, Microsoft postponed deprecation until May 2024. Correspondingly, we have postponed deprecation of the Azure Enterprise Agreement dataset in Tanzu CloudHealth FlexReports until a future date, which will be determined and announced soon. As communicated before, this deprecation will not have any effect on the existing saved FlexReports that were created using the Azure Enterprise Agreement Dataset. The new Azure Cost Management dataset for FlexReports is now generally available today, and we encourage use of the new Azure Cost Management dataset when creating new FlexReports.
We have improved our policy engine to support exclusion when filtering! This update is available for all resource types and available fields in the Tanzu CloudHealth policy engine.
