Support for AWS Network Load Balancers

We have recently added API-based collection and reporting for AWS Network Load Balancers. This asset type is now available across the platform including Activity Feed and Policies. Until now, Network Load Balancers and associated tags were derived from your account’s Cost and Usage Report. This upgrade will ensure that CloudHealth reports additional useful data which is not available in Cost and Usage Reports.

We haven’t updated the cost distribution for this asset type. The costs associated with Network Load Balancers will remain distributed into the following direct service items:

  • EC2 - Network Load Balancer Transfer

  • EC2 - Network Load Balancer Usage

Update to Containers Cost History Report — Configure Multiple Containers Cost Distribution Rules

For years, CloudHealth customers have been able to distribute the costs of shared cloud compute resources used by their containerized applications, based on how many resources various components have requested to be provisioned.

Now customers can configure multiple concurrent distributions of those costs used by containerized applications and to measure the costs of a cluster split by namespace, by product line, or by team. (Note this was pre-announced on October 8th.) This new capability allows users to select their preferred cost distribution rule in the Containers Cost History Report from a dropdown selector.

As a result, report links have changed. In most cases we have created new Saved Reports and Subscriptions for you, but we ask that you double check these changes, modify where appropriate, and also update your saved bookmark links.

Update to Data Archive — Enabled by Default

Last year, we announced the Data Archive feature which allowed you to begin to accrue snapshots of your data on a monthly basis, once opt-ed in. Now, we have enabled it by default for everyone. Learn more about CloudHealth Data Archive in this Help Center article.

Help Center Japanese Localization

We’re excited to announce the release of the Japanese version of the CloudHealth Help Center. You can now switch between Japanese and English locales in the Help Center using the dropdown in the top right corner. The GraphQL API is available only in English for now. We are working out how best to offer a localized format for that documentation.

Update to CloudHealth UI Icons — Coming Soon

Next week, you will notice a new set of icons in the CloudHealth platform. This change will introduce more consistency between CloudHealth and the rest of the VMware software portfolio. To provide much more intuitive and visually appealing tools, reports, and workflows, we will keep making similar UI improvements in the coming months. Please note that you will not lose access to any functionality nor have we changed access to any part of the application.
