Administration Management

January 7, 2025

CloudHealth recommends adding the following GCP Best Practice Policies for Administration Management.

Step 1 of 2

New Derived Projects

After you configure a GCP billing account with the CloudHealth Platform, all projects associated with the billing account are added to the CloudHealth Platform as derived projects. When a new project is created in the Google Console, it is also added to the CloudHealth Platform as a new derived project. You may need to update policies, reports, budgets, etc. to include the new derived project.

Example: Identify newly created derived projects.

Sample Best Practice Policy: This policy identifies new derived projects and sends a notification.

Step 2 of 2

Project Status

When a new Google project is added to the CloudHealth Platform, there are a number of errors that can occur and prevent CloudHealth from properly accessing the project. It is important to keep track of projects whose status is not healthy so that you can fix the errors. For more information, see the Status of Google Project topic.

Examples: When a project has a status of Critical, Warning, or Not Configured, send a message to an administrator.

Sample Best Practice Policy: This policy identifies any projects with a status of Critical and sends an email notification.
