Data Connect (New Experience)

CloudHealth is excited to announce the general availability for Data Connect as part of the new CloudHealth experience. The capability is launched with two key offerings: Custom File Upload and an Automated Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) Connector for Databricks. As part of general availability, we have made the following enhancements to Data Connect capability.

  • Ability to “Browse” and upload files from Local: Data Connect now supports a “Browse and Upload” option that allows you to directly upload files from your local system. Previously, data ingestion required configuring and connecting a cloud storage bucket. With this enhancement, you can quickly upload files without any infrastructure setup - making it easier to validate use cases, run ad-hoc analyses, and achieve faster time to value. Please note that existing storage bucket ingestion remains fully supported for automated and large-scale data pipelines.

  • On-demand Data Collection: In addition to the scheduled 12-hour data refresh, you can now trigger data collection on demand. This gives you immediate access to the latest data without waiting for the next scheduled run, enabling faster analysis and decision-making.

  • Support for Parquet: Alongside CSV, Parquet support allows you to ingest larger datasets more efficiently while maintaining flexibility in how external data is modeled and analyzed within CloudHealth.

AWS Rightsizing: Support for Tags Data Across All Services in Recommendations API and Export (Classic Experience)

CloudHealth has enhanced Rightsizing Recommendations by extending tag visibility beyond EC2. You can now export rightsizing recommendations across AWS services - including EC2, RDS, OpenSearch, EBS, ElastiCache, Redshift, DynamoDB, and S3 - with an additional ‘Tags’ column. With tag data now available through both the Recommendations API and export, you can easily categorize, filter, and integrate optimization insights into your external workflows, reporting, and governance processes. This enhancement enables consistent analysis across services and helps teams drive more targeted, accountable, and scalable optimization efforts.

Public Beta | Azure Rightsizing for All Available Services (New Experience)

CloudHealth is excited to announce that Azure rightsizing recommendations are now available for a broad range of services, including but not limited to Virtual Machines, Disks, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Kubernetes Service, Databricks Workspaces, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Data Explorer, Log Analytics Workspaces, Front Door Service, App Services etc. Recommendations will be of type Terminate, Downsize, Autoscale or Optimize Configuration based on the service under consideration. Public beta includes initial integration with Azure Advisor recommendations, and during the transition to General Availability, we will be enriching base recommendations from Azure with platform constructs and capabilities (such as perspective support), to make these recommendations more usable and actionable.

Smart Summary: Drilldown (New Experience)

CloudHealth is excited to announce drilldown capability on Smart Summaries. Clicking on a smart summary now opens a statement view that gives you resource level detail on what contributed to each smart summary.

Manage columns can be used to add or remove columns to the statement view. The export button exports the selected columns in the statement view. To go back to smart summaries from the statement view, click the back button.

Realized Savings: Drilldown for Commitments (New Experience)

CloudHealth is excited to announce drilldown capability for commitment savings from Realized Savings Dashboard. You can now drill down into rate optimization elements (Savings Summary, Commitment Savings, Coverage and Utilization) to see the underlying data and calculations behind the reported values in the dashboard. This enhancement provides greater transparency and makes it easier to reconcile savings and validate results.

Partners | AWS Database Savings Plan Support in Partner Billing (Classic Experience)

CloudHealth now is able to recalculate Database Savings Plans across all supported services (including Neptune and OpenSearch) for consolidated configurations. We will apply the same logic that AWS does with prioritizing greatest savings advantage first while supporting account affinity. We now recommend purchasing Database Savings Plans across your customer base.

UI Changes, Updates, and Fixes

Partner Billing Improvements

  • Account affinity has been applied to all service types for RIs

  • Free tier is now calculated once across all regions

  • Aurora IO/Optimized usage line items are now properly allocated

New Experience Improvements

  •  The dataset name is now displayed consistently across the application using its displayName, with prefixes such as CUSTOM_, PARTNER_, DATACONNECT_, and CX_ removed. If a dataset is marked as "beta" or "deprecated," a corresponding label will be displayed separately.

  • Column names now have uniform formatting across the entire page, including in the filters, charts, and data grid.

  • Y-axis selection in the report viewer page now allows a maximum of four values to be selected

  • Customers can now share a direct report link including the current chart configuration and filters in the report URL.

  • The function CX_TIME has been renamed to Time Period in all places except the SQL editor

  • To prevent accidental configuration over-riding when a user previews a custom dataset, a confirmation pop-up will appear if there are unapplied changes on the add/edit page.

  • The settings on the Custom dataset add/edit page now persist. Adding or changing a dataset via the selection panel no longer causes a complete settings reset.

  • A back button has been added to report editing. Clicking this button returns the user to the original source page, maintaining the same configuration.

  • Map columns are now excluded from the Filter panel on the Report creation page because direct filtering is not supported for these columns. Instead, filters are applied using the keys associated with the map columns.

Bug Fixes

  • Intelligent Assist-generated reports now save with the chosen chart type.

  • The tooltip for the FlexReport view page has been corrected. It now displays a Total value that accurately corresponds to the respective y-axis total value.
